{Meet Emmy...Emmy's Got Style!}

I wanted to take a moment and tell you about a great evening we had a couple of weekends ago. Our friends A&J hosted a little 'get together' at their home and our friend C&E came in from out of state. It was a nice evening with good friends. Our 3 families have all been blessed by the miracle of adoption. Altogether, we had a total of 10 kids in the house...they definitely outnumber the adults! It was so sweet to see the kids interact with one another.
A's daughter and C's son were able to meet for the first time...good thing since their mommies have already pre-planned their wedding! ha! And my daughter and C's daughter were able to meet for the first time.
Liv and Emmy are 4 months apart and Emmy has been in our prayers for, well...her whole life. Emmy has Sickle Cell Anemia and has spent much of her short life in and out of the hospital. She is such a blessing, has the sweetest personality and it's amazing what God has already done in her little life.

Emmy's parents are starting a not-for profit organization called Emmy's Got Style. If you know Emmy, you know that YES, she has style! She is always sporting a large adorable bow and is often seen sporting her shades as well. Too cute! But this organization is much more than being a stylish kid. It's fun and yet serious. Emmy's Got Style has created a line of adorable hospital gowns, yes STYLISH hospital gowns for kids. Emmy knows first hand how boring and blah those ugly gowns are that she is forced to wear at the hospital. So....her mommy came up with this idea! How awesome! And while this is great for Emmy on her frequent trips to the hospital, it is also awesome for other kids who suffer with long term, chronic illnesses. The gowns will bring a little joy into their visits to the hospital!

But what about those of us who do not have to frequent the hospital with our kids? What can we do? Well...glad you asked! You can make a donation to Emmy's Got Style and they will be glad to gift a gown to a child who wants one. How cool will that be?

Their website is currently under construction and I will blog again as soon as it's up...for now, please jump over to the facebook page and 'like' it.
